Safety

The load is the job. The operator is the limit.

RackLift® equipment is specified to take musculoskeletal disorder risk out of cabinet and device moves. It is still mechanical equipment. This checklist is the floor, not the ceiling. Follow the operator’s manual shipped with the unit.

Before

  1. 01Inspect straps, casters, winch, and shoes before every lift.
  2. 02Confirm the load rating of the unit against the cabinet or device weight.
  3. 03Clear the aisle. Raised-floor tiles, cable ramps, and thresholds included.
  4. 04Verify the destination path will accept the spin radius and doorway height.
  5. 05Charge battery-electric units; confirm the status light before you start.

During

  1. 01Keep personnel out from under a raised load.
  2. 02Use both lifting units on cabinet moves; never one end only.
  3. 03Fasten retractable straps or E-Track before raising.
  4. 04Monitor the load for shift. Stop if anything walks.
  5. 05The brake / auto-lock is not a substitute for remaining with the controls.

After

  1. 01Lower fully onto the tiles or the pallet before unstrapping.
  2. 02Remove the units and store them on charge (electric models).
  3. 03Report any winch slip, caster damage, or bent shoe before the next job.

Why a warehouse lift fails here

General material-handling lifts are rated for pallets, not for 1.70″ of insertion clearance, antistatic casters on a raised floor, or a 42.2″ spin in a containment aisle. Using the wrong tool is how tiles crack, rails bind, and people get hurt. Spec a data-center lift for data-center work.
